"There has never been a more urgent need to create awareness and help individuals plan for the risk of needing long-term care," states Jesse Slome, the Association's Executive Director. "This is an opportunity to create jobs, protect Americans and their families from the single greatest financial risk to retirement savings and security for America's aging seniors."

In 2000, there were 34.8 million Americans aged 65 or older, nearly 13 percent of the population. By 2020, Census data projects that percentage will increase by nearly one-third.
