June 18, 2015, Los Angeles, CA -   The listing of topics and speakers participating in the 2015 National Long Term Care Solutions Sales Summit was announced today by  the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance.

There is no cost to attend the conference or to watch the live stream online from the event taking place October 27, 2015 in Washington D.C.

“The nation’s top experts will be participating in the event,” explains Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance (AALTCI).   Some 25 different sessions will focus on topics ranging from “Are New LTC Policies Subject To Future Rate Increases?” to ways to sell both traditional and linked benefit LTC solutions.

According to AALTCI, the conference will be streamed live online and available at no charge.  “The support of the five insurance companies makes it possible for us to stream the conference and make access available at free to anyone with Internet access,” Slome explains.  The five insurance companies are John Hancock, Transamerica, Genworth, Nationwide and OneAmerica.

“There is renewed interest in private insurance solutions now that Americans recognize there are not going to be any government options,” declares Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance (AALTCI).    The Affordable Care Act had included provisions for a voluntary federal long term care option.  “This was the only part of Obamacare that the White House backed away from.”

“Every day we all get one day older and that’s one day closer to needing long term care as a result of aging,” Slome explains.   “We tell people their risk of needing care is either zero percent or 100 percent and if one acknowledges there is a risk, planning for it makes sense.”

The national LTC Summit takes place May 18-20, 2014 at the Westin Hotel in Kansas City.  Early registration is currently $99 through March 31.  Registration costs increase $100-per-person on April 1 according to the Association.

“There will be three days of powerful workshops featuring many of the nation’s leading experts in the field,” Slome notes.  “Attending is a chance to learn, to hear the latest strategies and to network with experts as well as all the leading insurers in the field.”  Exhibitors include both traditional long term care insurers as well as those offering newer hybrid products including life insurance and annuities that offer long term care options.

“Several hundred insurance professionals will gather next May in Kansas City but we expect between 4,000 to 5,000 will view sessions streamed live and available for free,” explains Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance.    The organization will hold the 11th National Long Term Care Solutions Sales Summit at the Westin Hotel in Kansa City from May 18-20, 2014.

“Nothing can replace face-to-face networking but technology will allow us to reach thousands of professionals who can’t dedicate the time or expense involved with attending a conference.   Two hours of key sessions will be streamed live online over each of the three days Slome explains.  “Those viewing online will be able to use Twitter to submit questions or comments during the live sessions,” the AALTCI director notes.

In between sessions, viewers will have the ability to check out virtual vendor booths and download product information.  “We selected long term care insurance as the first conference utilizing the new technology,” Slome adds.  “Our plan is to expand this to our Medicare Supplement insurance industry conference as well as implement the first national Critical Illness Insurance online sales conference.

Sessions that will be streamed live include a new one hour workshop conducted by Harley Gordon, president of the Corporation for Long-Term Care Certification.  The highlight Slome predicts will be the Long-Term Care Insurance Industry CEO Panel, which will feature four heads of long-term care insurance companies.  “Viewers want to really know where the industry is headed and the ability to use Twitter to pose questions takes this conference to the next threshold,” Slome remarks.

For the initial online conference and expo, the Association intends to limit the number of online viewers to 5,000, with each having the ability to access up to six hours of free sessions.  “The technology can certainly handle more,” Slome shares.  “In September (2013), a record one-million concurrent viewers simultaneously watched a live stream of an Apple new product announcement.   So 5,000 is a more than reasonable number to expect for our first effort.”
