Jesse Slome Long Term Care Insurance Expert - Advice Interviews Speaker Author
Jesse Slome has served as executive director for the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance since the organization was founded in 1998. He is considered one of the nation's leading experts on the subject of long-term care planning and long-term care insurance and is frequently quoted in print articles as well as appearing as a guest on radio and television programs.
Slome is the author of 20 consumer and professional guides and books focused on long-term care insurance planning. He is directly responsible for devising and implementing the Association's extensive research on long-term care insurance buyers and claimants which is published in the Association's annual Long-Term Care Insurance Sourcebook. Guides he has authored include A Woman's Guide To Long-Term Care Insurance and Ways to Reduce The Cost of Long-Term Care Insurance. Nearly 2 million copies of his Business owner's Guide To Tax Qualified Long-Term Care Insurance have been distributed nationally.
Because the Association does not directly sell insurance products, the information it produces is designed to provide fair and balanced information that can benefit consumers as well as insurance professionals who comprise the organization's members. As a result, leading consumer publications including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Money magazine, Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine, Oprah magazine, Ladies Home Journal and over 200 daily newspapers and business publications have quoted him as a leading authority on the subject.
For 11 years, Slome served as Editor in Chief of Long-Term Care Insurance Sales Strategies magazine, authoring much of the publication's content. He is is a frequent speaker at leading national and regional conferences.
Slome's first professional work on behalf of long-term care insurance dates back to 1987 when he helped create and implement a public relations program for Aetna Life & Casualty. At the time, he worked for Aetna's public relations agency in New York City and ultimately he went to work for Aetna (as New York Pension Sales Manager).
